A solid budget spot with a good location and clean basics, perfect for travelers watching their wallets; the rooms are compact but practical, and the complimentary coffee each morning is a nice touch. However, the $26 “resort” fee feels out of place for a place called Pod 39, and the lack of outlets near the headboard is frustrating.

The location is superb—easy access to the station, shops and restaurants, plus a rooftop bar with a night view. The downside was the room’s humidity; the shower creates a lot of steam, the air‑conditioning runs, causing condensation that makes paper and clothes feel damp, and the mattress is oddly soft with a squeaky base.

The location is just perfect, the hotel is a 5-minute-long walk from Grand Central Terminal, from where you can go literally anywhere. The staff was very accomodating and helpful, they gave us a room upgrade free of charge upon arrival. The rooms are very clean with incredible view to the city, the bed is very comfortable, and the air conditioning system works perfectly. Although the room was perfect, the walls of the bathroom were made out of blurry glass, which didn't give much privacy during showering
