“Unique experience in a comfortable lodge on the edge of a nature reserve”
If you’re up for a bit of adventure, this resort is worth the effort: it sits on the edge of a nature reserve and the journey itself is a challenge, yet the site is gorgeous, the accommodations feel deeply rural, and the lodge—just 20 meters uphill, reachable by concrete steps—offers a stunning view of the pool, nature, and hotel. The large wooden lodge, complete with a concrete bathroom and a spacious balcony, gives the vibe of staying inside the jungle, and breakfast is abundant and excellent. For those who aren’t afraid of leeches, a jungle experience is also available. The main difficulty lies in reaching the resort: there’s a one‑way entrance from the highway, and the route first passes through a former high‑speed railway construction site now abandoned, then a narrow bush path, and finally a steep concrete trail after crossing the nature reserve fence, with occasional signs to keep you on track.
