The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent – everything you need for breakfast was there and always refilled. The friendly lady in charge of breakfast was quick and very kind. After breakfast we headed out quickly – about a 6‑minute walk to the Königssee, around 10 minutes to the Jennerbahn, and a short drive to nearby sights like the Kehlsteinhaus, the salt mine, the Old Saline, and Salzburg. The hotel parking is free and there is always a spot available. The walk to the taverns, coffee spots, and places to eat Kaiserschmarrn or dinner was short (the prices there were also reasonable), and we were back at the hotel fully satisfied after a maximum of 10 minutes on foot. The hotel staff were always quick – when we needed an extra towel, we barely said a word and someone knocked on the door. The only thing we could suggest is maybe cleaning the grout in the bathroom a bit more often (though it was really clean), but we think a monthly clean would be enough.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Königsseer Hof and felt comfortable from the start. The location is simply dreamy – the Königssee and the beautiful scenery are practically right outside the door. For trips and hikes the hotel is a perfect starting point.

The staff are courteous. The location is fantastic. The property has great potential, but it would benefit from a nice refurbishment of the furnishings. The breakfast is plentiful, but the table setup is a bit chaotic (too many items on the table). Unfortunately, one of the two rooms had a “strange” smell; the hotel hosts dogs, and the odor was indeed of a “wet dog.” The other room was fine, but the furnishings and the bathroom are outdated and would need a good renovation.
