I was frustrated when checking in because the staff told me my booking hadn’t been changed as I’d asked and that it was too late to adjust it, so I’d have to pay the difference; they came across as rude. I had proof, and after some back‑and‑forth the staff finally called and found that the hotel had actually missed the request email. They agreed to fix the booking and refund the difference. Now it’s been a while and I’ve chased it twice, but I’ve only gotten a credit instead of a real refund, which is disappointing. I chose this place for the onsen and sauna, but the sauna was out of order the first night. The onsen itself is very small, with limited lockers and shower space, and I had to queue to use it. There was also no luggage storage after check‑out, which was inconvenient.

Having a microwave was nice, but there was no ice machine and it was far from Susukino.

The permanent on‑sen hot spring was quiet enough that I could use it alone, and having a convenience store nearby was a lifesaver. The underground walkways were a bit far away. I had read that the breakfast was “excellent,” so I was looking forward to it, but it turned out to be just a rice‑ball box with a rather sparse selection, and there was an extra bathing tax.
