The host was very friendly and informative, the breakfast tasty, and the property lovingly restored—a partly 200‑year‑old estate with beautiful guest rooms, thick walls, a large varied grounds full of plants, flowers, fruit trees, and limestone caves to admire, all in a calm setting. Dogs are welcome.

The room and breakfast were fine, but after a long trip and a one‑hour notice that we would be 20 minutes late for check‑in, the reception was quite rude and unfriendly, scolding us in a way we’d never seen elsewhere; it was a shame, especially since the rest of our stay in France was marked by great kindness and hospitality.

The welcome was warm and professional, everything was perfect, and the estate had a bit of charm.

The setting was quiet, tucked away in the countryside 15 minutes from Chinon and the restaurant Les Jardiniers; the room was well maintained and the temperature stayed normal despite the heatwave, and Manfred goes to great lengths to make your stay enjoyable in this beautiful region, though parking becomes a bit tricky when you have three vehicles.
