The location was good and there was plenty of storage, but the shower lacked a mirror and wasn’t powerful enough, and there was no fork or bowl.

I got my refund immediately; the owner seemed fairly quick to reply and apologized promptly. However, I couldn’t get in—the outer door was stuck or seemed bolted on the inside and no one was available to open it. I got a refund and stayed elsewhere, but it was very inconvenient since I’d traveled three hours with a heavy bag and had to walk about 35 minutes from where I’d been after getting off the long train journey.

Nothing positive. Everything was bad: people came and went constantly, it was loud, people were drinking and smoking, and the room I was put in was basically a part of the kitchen with a door to separate it.

It was well situated for access to the town and railway station, but it was an HMO rather than a hotel or guest house. The night was noisy with heated conversations between other guests, the boiler in the room was loud, the room was very hot, and it sat behind a shared kitchen with detritus scattered about, including a half‑saucepan of food on the cooker. There was no staff at all. I checked out after one night because I didn’t feel comfortable staying a second; it was not a pleasant experience.

I moved to a guest house, but it was a last‑minute change with no prior phone calls.
