The breakfast included grilled mackerel, which was delicious; the view was great, and most of all I enjoyed chatting with the owner—I wanted to talk more! There’s nothing else. The place is small and cute, the bathrooms are tidy, and it felt cozy.

First, the location! It’s a short walk from the Jiufen tourist area, and you can relax away from the crowds. The slope and stairs are unavoidable, so if you’re fit, you should definitely come. The stairs are unavoidable in Jiufen, maybe it’s just inevitable.

The breakfast was delicious, the room was comfortable and had a strong Japanese vibe, and the view from the morning restaurant was spectacular. The building has a lot of stairs and they’re hard to locate, which is understandable given the hillside site.

Everything felt clean and comfortable overall. The place is a bit off the beaten path and requires climbing quite a few steps.

The view from the room and from the breakfast hall was outstanding, and the owner was friendly enough that we felt at ease using the place. Breakfast was Japanese, which was wonderfully nourishing and tasty. The location was hard to find and we almost got lost, but a phone call got us the help we needed.
