The staff were genuinely friendly and the breakfast spread was solid, which made mornings pleasant. The room itself, though, was a bit of a hassle – a huge dresser took up space and there were no shelves for my bags, so everything ended up on the floor. Closing the dresser was a nightmare, so I wish they'd redesign it for practicality.

From the moment I arrived, the place felt a cut above the rest – I keep thinking “nothing else matches Pousada Hortelã.” The staff were attentive, the Pitanga suite was incredibly comfy, and the afternoon tea with fresh coffee, breads and cakes was a real treat on a chilly day. I couldn't find any fault, so I'm already planning my next visit.
