The location is great for the train station, but communication was terrible: I called and left three messages, then emailed three times, and got no reply. I was told the night before arrival that no evening meal or breakfast would be available due to kitchen problems, which is inconvenient when traveling by train.

The bed was comfortable for sleeping, but the extractor fan was covered in dust, the toilet brush holder was dirty, and the power outlets were awkwardly placed and far from furniture for electronics. The room needed a thorough cleaning to remove dust and cobwebs.

The staff were pleasant, parking was available on site, the free pool table was nice and warm, but there was no breakfast or evening meal because there was no chef; we were only informed the day before arrival, and no continental option was offered. The bathroom had a dirty toilet brush, a missing drawer in the chest of drawers, biscuits that were already expired (Jan 25!), and no pillow protectors.

Room was ok. No breakfast offered as chef walked out. After a 4 hour drive we was hoping for a evening meal and was so disappointed when told there was no food. If i hadnt already paid 1st i wld of took my money and tried elsewhere to stay.After a long drive we didnt expect to go and find food. Pub was full of youngsters playing pool, no where to sit and relax
