The location is really good and the space is huge. I had trouble getting help at check‑in and when the hot water stopped working.

“Very clean , fully furnished and recently modern renovated , very clean”

Spacious. No swimming pool , no mirror in the bathroom , we checked in around 8.00pm and it was dark , outside lights were off

“This house is a catfish.”

The house sits in a great spot and the grounds look beautiful. The house itself was dirty, the décor was outdated, mismatched and uncomfortable, and the price didn’t match the experience. I’ve paid more for a night elsewhere on the South Island, where I found cleaner, more comfortable and equally lovely places for about $250 a night. When I called Book Tekapo to move to a different house—maybe one with 2 or 3 bedrooms—they said “tough luck.” The service was horrible, and I’ll never use Book.com or Book Tekapo again.

“Not worth the money we paid for for the stay. Won’t come back and won’t recommend to others.”

The location was outstanding, within walking distance of the lake and church. The house needs serious maintenance; the facility was old and the cookware wasn’t clean. The floor and carpet were dirty, and our indoor slippers turned black after one day. Many of the seasonings had expired, the TV remote had no batteries, and the PS5 had no cable.

“We had a great stay”

The location is great, with a nice view of the church and lake. The kitchen island bench is in terrible condition and needs to be replaced.
