The host was super helpful and always around! The house wasn’t spotless but it was fine and everything else worked perfectly! He let us borrow free bikes to cruise the island.

The Japanese interior was beautiful and the new bathroom was lovely, but the fridge was too cold.

The accommodation was a typical Japanese setup, and we were lucky to be the only guests, enjoying all the gear just for ourselves. The full range of amenities was solid for the price: tea and coffee, a hair dryer, toothbrushes, shower gel/shampoo. A great restaurant was nearby, but there was no grocery store. For breakfast we had coffee 1 km away with a stunning view. Note that the futon had to be made ourselves on arrival, but it wasn’t difficult. The place felt a bit isolated, so planning meals ahead was necessary.

The space was very roomy, comfortable, and clean, and we appreciated being able to borrow bikes to explore the island. The door frames were too short for tall people (I’m 6’3”).

Because it was a whole‑building rental, I felt free to relax. The caretaker was kind and meticulous, and he pointed out nearby dining spots, which was convenient. The bathroom and toilet had been renovated and were user‑friendly. The “Season 3” sign was missing, so I got a bit lost. The room had many nostalgic items; for foreigners, the Showa pieces might be rare but interesting.
