There was nothing good. Before your stay, the owner will contact you saying they’re in renovation and will move you to the pension at U České Lípy, and there you’ll find out that someone else has been assigned to the room you booked – this has been going on for a long time… trust zero.

We were told at 18:00 on 29.4.2026 by the owner that the apartment was under renovation and we would stay at the Šatovské Lípy pension instead. Since we arrived on the last train, we were grateful for a roof over our heads and a bed, even though the room was relatively cold. Right after our own breakfast – the alternative accommodation had no breakfast, only a kettle and small glasses in the room – we set off for the next leg of ViaCzechia, leaving a bottle of wine in the fridge as an apology, and the mood wasn’t ruined by the replacement. Staying in a small room for more nights, especially with children, might have been seen as a problem. I sent the first review immediately after staying, couldn’t find it, so I’m sending it again today. H.P

I was disappointed that the owner had been renovating the Fandy pension for some time and still offered accommodation there. When I booked, it was already under renovation, and on the day of arrival the owner sent me a message that, for technical reasons, I had to be moved to the Šatovské Lípy pension, which didn’t match the price or comfort. The interior tiles were unappealing and the bathroom didn’t meet the standards I expected from other places. The apology was a bottle of wine that didn’t match the label’s quality. I managed to stay one night, but I definitely won’t book with this owner again.

Based on online booking and photos, I had already inspected the location, the pension’s position, and the nearby food, shop, and entertainment options. The biggest surprise was that we were placed in a different pension – but with the same owner. The host reached out himself and we arranged everything. The replacement room was well done, solid beds, one loft bed – but we were satisfied! We appreciated the ability to store electric bikes overnight in a locked space. After checking in, my group and I rode bikes to dinner and only later addressed the shortcomings. The loft bed had no linens or duvets, which the host later provided and delivered.
