The staff were extremely friendly. The rooms were somewhat small and tight but well decorated. Each room had a balcony where breakfast was served as soon as you stepped out in the morning, which was really nice and cozy. The hotel offered direct sea access to crystal‑clear, deep‑blue water.

I had an amazing stay at Shanuo in Zanzibar! A huge shout‑out to the front desk crew, especially Salma and Lilly, who made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Their friendliness, warmth, responsiveness, and willingness to help truly enhanced my visit. The housekeeping team was consistently lovely and attentive, and the Maasai security staff were friendly and welcoming. I also appreciated the marketing team for the photoshoot. The location in Michamvi on Zanzibar’s east coast is great, with a beautiful beach and sea view. The room was lovely, the atmosphere was great, and the hotel itself is a wonderful place to stay. Well done, Claudio, and the entire Shanuo team! Thank you for making my Zanzibar stay unforgettable. I would definitely recommend Shanuo to female solo travelers and would love to return.

I walked a few minutes to the restaurants and the place was spotlessly clean, the staff were welcoming and friendly, and they went the extra mile to help whenever we needed it. We asked our friends to join us for breakfast and they set us up nicely outside our room with a nice sea view. The room was clean, the sunbeds were always available, and the hammock between the coconut trees was quiet and enjoyable. Nothing to complain about.

This hotel was wonderful, with a beautiful view and excellent service. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was delivered to your room and every option tasted great! The calm, relaxed atmosphere really impressed us.
