The hosts were very friendly and even let us check in a little earlier. A nice touch was the barbecue area that’s free to use, with some wood provided. The parking is on the street and very limited, which could be a problem if they’re fully booked.

We booked room 3 but were upgraded to room 1, a quiet spot on the edge of Riebeek‑Kasteel with views of vineyards and mountains, and the town center is a short walk away. Everything was new, very clean, and tastefully decorated. The room was large, the bathroom modern and spacious. The owners were very friendly and helpful, offering great information and recommendations. Nothing was lacking; everything was perfect.

I wasn’t impressed: street parking in SA is a no‑go no matter the camera, and there’s no security guard. The kettle was broken, the toilet wasn’t private, the shower tiles were slick like ice, and there was no shower bar or non‑slip rubber mat. The key lock box was tricky and there was no TV. The same issues I already noted.
