The scenery was beautiful, the calmness and escape from city life were perfect, and breakfast was exceptional, fresh, delicious, and lovingly prepared; the staff, especially Melinda, Aunty Joy, and the rest of the family, were friendly and welcoming, but leaving for busy Cape Town was a bit of a let‑down.

We chose this place because it was only 8 minutes from MolenVliet for our wedding, and the owners and staff were very friendly and kind, but the overall experience felt overpriced; we paid just under R5000 for two nights (R4780) with breakfast included, which I don’t usually eat but my partner said it was okay; the bedrooms are close together so noise is a problem—everything from people waking up to late‑night arrivals can be heard, and check‑out is as early as 10 am; the rooms look dated and old, and the price is far too high for what Lumley’s place offers, so a rate of about R1500 per night would be more reasonable; it was acceptable for a two‑night stay, but the price should be lowered.
