I showed up at the address only to be told that Recanto da Praia Pousada had been closed for a long time and was no longer operating, yet the listing was still accepting bookings and I had paid normally. With no room available I had to scramble at the last minute to find another pousada in São Miguel do Gostoso, bearing all the hassle, and I never reached anyone on the listed phone nor got any help on site, nor any assistance from the booking platform. I would advise anyone to avoid reserving here while the ad remains live, because you risk paying in advance, arriving to find the place shut down and having nowhere to stay; I hope the platform removes the listing promptly and refunds the full amount since the service was never provided.

The pool, breakfast, and two staff members—the pool guy and the kitchen lady—were positives. The distance from the sea was a downside. The reception staff was extremely rude, didn’t even listen to us, and only wanted to talk. The manager who came to complain about us having beer in the pool was also rude. Another staff member said we couldn’t bring our own cooler. I think that’s extremely unfair. We paid the daily rate and were forced to consume from the inn’s bar. We brought our cooler and drink, couldn’t enjoy what we brought, and still received a complaint from an ill‑mannered manager. You need to review your staff; they are very aggressive and rude.

Do not book! The inn was shut down by the court, did not notify those with reservations, and remains listed here. I was met at the door with a rough handwritten notice and a phone that didn’t answer. Stay away!

The resort offered a huge leisure area and a perfect location, and breakfast was fantastic with omelet, tapioca and queijo coalho. We booked two rooms: one was simply flawless—spacious and facing the leisure zone—while the other, set at the back, was also roomy though not as impressive. The back room lacked a proper shower head and any hooks in the bathroom to hang a face towel, but everything else was great.
