The caretaker was kind. The road for cars was narrow, making it hard to pass each other.

The location is fairly convenient. There is no breakfast service, and although you can shower in the morning, the water was cold.

The staff were genuinely lovely and hospitable, and I loved the aesthetic of the rooms too! The lady who runs the place speaks English well, so if your Japanese isn’t strong she’s happy to explain in English. I was also greeted with snacks and tea when I arrived, which I really appreciated. The only downside was the distance from the station and the fact that the path can feel a bit uncertain at night, especially in the dark because you have to walk through a short forested area. I’d recommend getting there before sunset and maybe taking a taxi. Still, the hotel and staff more than make up for it.

The 24‑hour bath hours were great, and having two baths was a plus. The 8‑channel image in the room I stayed in was not good.
