The place was quiet inside and out, but the bedding was bad, the shower door wouldn't close, and there was no sign to tell if the shared bathroom was occupied.

“A quaint place to stay”

The stay had a rustic countryside vibe and the building itself was historically interesting; the attached brewery next to the pub would be a dream for beer lovers, but the hotel could use some investment to upgrade the facilities.

“Disappointing”

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at; I never felt safe because the bedroom door wouldn't lock and the rear entrance to the rooms stayed permanently open, letting anyone walk in and out right onto the outside seating area. The hotel sits above a pub, which is worth knowing when booking, yet the pub’s noise was not an issue. The room itself was noisy for other reasons: the floorboards creaked with every movement, the room was so hot that we had to leave the window open all night, the road outside was busy at all hours, and a streetlight right outside the window left us with very little sleep. The room was a decent size and had storage, a kettle, and a TV, though we didn’t use them. It desperately needed TLC: the wallpaper was peeling, there was a hole in one of the walls, and the mismatched furniture made the room feel tired and neglected. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable, feeling like you were lying directly on the springs. Cleanliness was another major issue, especially in the bathroom: the shower drain was blocked, there was a layer of dirt on the shower floor, toothpaste covered the hand towel, and the bathroom generally felt unclean and poorly maintained. We weren’t given any towels when we arrived, although staff did provide some when we asked, and those towels looked extremely worn and well past their best. Free parking on site was a definite bonus. Wi‑Fi was not available, but that didn’t bother us. There were steep stairs up to the rooms with no lift, which was fine for us but could be difficult for older guests or anyone with mobility issues. Considering the condition of the hotel, I was surprised by the price, especially for a midweek stay. Overall, the lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, uncomfortable bed, and most importantly the security concerns made this a very disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

The place was nice, but it was too old.

This was an amazing, experience was so much to keep us entertained for the night air conditioning was amazing will definitely stay here again next time were working in the area 😀
