We enjoyed a terrace room overlooking the road to Kataragama and liked being near the village centre. There was nothing negative to mention.

The welcome was consistently pleasant, and the hosts could arrange a room change when needed. Being close to the village centre was a plus. On the downside, the rooms varied in comfort; choosing a terrace room on an upper floor means you’ll be under the Esala Perahera loudspeaker, but at least you’ll get some fresh air.

The location is the only thing that justifies the price, but I wouldn't recommend it for families. We were all squished in the room and had to pay extra for air conditioning. The bathroom could use a good scrub.

We had a pretty disastrous start to our stay at this hotel. When we arrived, there was no one at the reception to greet us, and it took a while to get someone to show up. When the staff did appear, it was a bit of a chaotic scene - a teenager seemed to be in charge, and then a lady turned up looking a bit.unprofessional. To top it all off, the room was a mess - dirty, untidy, and with a broken mirror in the bathroom.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the bus stop, but unfortunately, that's where the good news ends. The rooms were filthy, with a barbecue grill on the balcony and no fly screen, so insects were swarming everywhere. It looked like the room hadn't been cleaned in years. To make matters worse, there was no hot water, and when I asked about it, I was told that there was no hot water in the room. Needless to say, we wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
