Green turf

It’s located near Galle Fort, walkable in 10‑15 minutes despite the traffic. Air conditioning and a fan are very welcome with the humid heat. The owners are friendly and helpful. The room had damp spots and a strong musty odor. The bed was quite uncomfortable. Mosquitoes and flying cockroaches entered through some spot in the bathroom, probably a faulty drain. After a sleepless night, I checked reviews again and saw that the cockroach issue is recurring; the owners could seal the pipe to stop them. The AC and fan are very noisy, so anyone sensitive to sound might struggle to sleep. Compared to other accommodations in Sri Lanka at the same price, this one is lower quality—though I understand that prices are higher in Galle. It’s fine for one night, not more.

The balcony view of the forest is amazing—you can watch monkeys running through the trees, which is probably the biggest advantage of this place. The location is decent, not on the main road, so it’s quiet. One or two nights is fine. Like everywhere in Sri Lanka, the room’s maintenance and upkeep are too meticulous; this room was not. There’s no fridge—whether in the room or elsewhere.

Everything matched the description and photos. The location is very good. The host is helpful. Breakfast was okay. The bathroom could use a refresh, but that’s fine for Sri Lanka. The bedding is a bit hard but within local standards.

The staff were friendly. It’s not far from the center and the bus station. The bathroom is large with two showers. The noise from the external air conditioning unit is annoying.

“Schöne Unterkunft mit familiären Flair”

The property sits right in the middle of greenery, a real little oasis. The room itself was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast also met all our expectations. The bathroom, however, was already a bit dated and sometimes not fully functional.
