“Right next to the ocean. Quiet and well done”
It was winter and we had the place to ourselves, so it felt very cozy and safe.
I didn’t enjoy the stay for several reasons: first, as it was in Portugal, no staff spoke Portuguese; the cleaning was awful; the food selection was limited and unappealing. I left earlier than the agreed date because I wasn’t happy, and they said they wouldn’t refund me. They could have cancelled the payment to let me buy a pricier pack that included more activities. Ridiculous. I won’t return. I left the management with the notice that the two unused nights should be refunded.
“Een heerlijke vakantie met de perfecte combinatie van rust, sfeer en comfort.”
I enjoyed the friendly staff, the beautiful location, and the wonderful beds! A slightly more varied breakfast would have made the stay even better.
The facilities are new and very pleasant. The atmosphere is very English‑speaking, even the receptionists and staff are foreigners and don’t speak Portuguese. That takes away charm and hospitality for me, as I don’t seek that environment even though I speak 5 languages! I chose this hostel because they advertise great animation and activities, and when I arrived I found a dead place, lifeless, with no activities (even though it was only September 2)… I saw it as somewhat neglected in service and attention to the guest.
“Preis Leistung unverschämt”
The accommodation had a good style, but the price was 200 € per night for a shared room, plus extreme extra costs. There were only two yoga classes a day – 7 am and 4 pm – and none on Monday. Each yoga session cost 25 € for 16 participants, which is more expensive than in Germany. The surf lesson was 50 € for more than 10 participants, whereas normally it’s 25–35 € for 6–8 participants.
