Alcorso Pension, a modern family-style guest house, is located 5 minutes from Banská Bystrica's city centre. The pension offers free WiFi and parking. Rooms feature solid wooden furniture, TV, and private bathroom with shower. A breakfast is served in single, double, or three-bed rooms. The pension is next to City Park, with nearby restaurants, shops, Aqualand, and Ministry of Fun club within walking distance.

The accommodation is right by the main city thoroughfare, and a supermarket is a short walk away. The front desk lady explained the door controls as if I were clueless. Main roads run all around the property, with no escape from the noise. One road passes over the hotel, and trucks on the expansion joints wake everyone up all night. The accommodation isn’t comfortable or cheap. All parking spots are paid and on a slope—parking a motorcycle requires a bit of finesse.

Good breakfasts at a reasonable price, but with the window open you can hear the traffic on the street below. The air‑conditioning works well, so you don’t have to keep the window open.

Close to the city centre, the staff were very friendly and the room was clean. The mattress was very soft and the walls were thin, so you could hear everything. In terms of price‑to‑quality ratio, this accommodation is entirely satisfactory.

The receptionist was very kind and helpful, parking was convenient, the facilities were good and the rooms were spotless. Unfortunately the pension sits right under a motorway bridge, and when cars cross the expansion joint on that bridge they make a loud thumping noise that can’t be muted even by closing the windows. For someone used to a quiet sleep this is a major issue.
