“Overhyped, only good for location”

Great location if looking to stay in Fontainhas. Very average property with no facilities and steep stairs

“A characterful heritage stay in an excellent location.”

Mateus has a wonderful location in the heart of Fontainhas, which made exploring Panjim on foot incredibly easy. The heritage building has lots of character and a real sense of place. What stood out most, though, was the warmth of the team. Ashpak was helpful throughout my stay and available when I needed anything, and Prem kindly helped me with a suitcase. Their hospitality made the stay feel personal and welcoming. My room was accessed by stairs, which is worth being aware of when booking. The rooms are spacious and have plenty of character

“Prime location and hence could walk around to my favourite cafes and eateries. Deliberately had to minimize stay inside”

I liked the location, the old‑world vibe and the view from the outside, but the facilities and management fell short; I was denied basic items like toothpaste or a lighter, the AC wouldn’t turn on, the door knob was broken, the washroom jet spray didn’t work, the internet was slow, the blankets smelled, and the white linen bed had random stains – the list just keeps going.

The spot is perfect! The building is beautiful, old, well furnished and beautifully decorated.
