“Neglected and in need of some TLC”

The location is good for Sabang Beach and town, and the Underground River is easy to reach. However, it was £11 a night, and although we’ve stayed in similarly priced places many times and found them clean with functional bathrooms, this place felt neglected and dirty, the bed linen was damp, and overall the environment seemed sad and unkempt. The hospitality wasn’t great, there was no food, no breakfast, no water or refreshments, and no apology.

“Propre et parfait pour visiter la rivière souterraine”

The location is ideal in the city center, great for arranging a visit to the underground river, and the place is charming despite its simple facilities. I slept very well. The hostel was completely empty of tourists, which made the place feel a bit sad, and I was uneasy because the dormitory door that opens to the outside doesn’t lock, even though the area seems safe (I was a single girl there). The reception offers excursions at prices that feel inflated compared to standard rates for the river tour, transport to El Nido/Puerto Princessa, or other activities. I chose to skip them, so I had to manage everything on my own.

Mary was an amazing host, very accommodating and welcoming, even giving us free fruit. She’s well‑known around Sabang and has lovely dogs. Nothing negative – everything was perfect.

“Pas cher et personnel sympa”

It was cheap, but the facilities were quite basic.
