The lodge may not be pristine, and it’s around a 30-minute drive to the park and river, but don’t let that put you off — it delivers an exceptional safari experience. Our guide, Brave, was great. His knowledge of the wildlife and genuine enthusiasm were obvious, and he was always looking for ways to enhance our experience. While some other safari vehicles seemed to be in a hurry, Brave took his time, looking for sign and making our experience memorable. His knowledge and approach to guiding made a huge difference. The staff at the lodge were equally impressive — friendly, helpful and welcoming, with great food and excellent service throughout our stay. An added highlight is the lodge’s waterhole. With herds of elephants, giraffes, buffalo, impala, plus the occasional hyenas and warthogs. Being able to dine at next to the water hole and watch a variety of wildlife come was an experience in itself. Highly recommended. bumpy road to the park when the alternative tar seal was only 10 minute longer
