The historic setting was beautiful, the building and landscaping were outstanding, and the owner was exceptionally friendly. I didn’t enjoy having to drive back after dinner on the dark, narrow, walled country roads.

I was thrilled with every aspect of the stay, nothing to complain about.

The place is exceptional, with a full view, a superb and calm pool. It’s a wonderful spot in the heart of the Itria Valley and close to the sea! We got there by bike, which is perfect for reaching everything. Keep the address for another stay because the region is so charming.

I loved how Masseria Montanaro balances deep authenticity with incredible comfort. The trulli and the main masseria are beautifully restored and meticulously cared for, so you feel immersed in genuine Puglia instead of a generic tourist spot. The atmosphere is wonderfully peaceful: surrounded by countryside, olive trees and the silence of the Valle d’Itria, yet only a short drive from Cisternino and nearby towns, making it a perfect base for exploring. I especially appreciated the pool area, which is spotless, well maintained, and never overcrowded, turning it into a true place of relaxation rather than just a photo spot. The hospitality is another highlight. Luisa and her family create a welcome that’s rare: warm, personal, and attentive without being intrusive. Luisa even brought us fresh figs and grapes from the garden, a generous and thoughtful gesture that captured the spirit of the place perfectly. Finally, the trulli apartments are spacious, tastefully furnished, and very comfortable, with good mattresses and pillows, functional kitchens, and pleasant outdoor areas for dining or simply sitting in the evening light. Sleeping there, in the quiet of the countryside and under the stone cones, is an experience in itself. Altogether, Masseria Montanaro is one of those places where you start planning your return as soon as you leave. Nothing really.
