The spot is perfect for watching the northern lights, and I was lucky enough to catch the aurora early in September right from the backyard—no driving needed. The address link, however, misdirected us to the Fireweed Roadhouse in Nenana; it should be fixed for future guests.

The drive to the next stop on our trip was slow. The outside stairs were awkward with heavy suitcases. The room was old and the beds had worn mattresses. Men had to share the bathrooms with workers, which isn’t ideal for women.

We got there after dark, making it hard to spot the facilities. It would help if the directions highlighted the Semi‑Trailer with “LODGING” painted on its side, since the Fireweed sign on the building is off the road.

They claim to be pet‑friendly, but the owner clarified that “that does not mean we allow dogs.”
