Yellow Bush Lodge

The host was very organized, responsive, and helpful whenever I had any questions, and they sent clear videos in advance showing how to find the lodge, which made arrival very straightforward. From a hosting perspective, I was very satisfied with the communication and support provided. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the property was disappointing: the sofa seating was stained and looked unclean, which was especially problematic because one member of our group had to sleep on one of the sofas during our stay. We also found a used water bottle underneath one of the beds, which appeared to have been left behind by previous guests. In addition, when I emptied the kitchen bin midway through our stay, I discovered a significant amount of rubbish and food waste at the bottom of the bin underneath the bin liner; the smell was unpleasant, and it seemed that the previous contents had not been removed before a new bin bag was installed. While the host was excellent and communication was very good throughout, the overall cleanliness of the property fell below expectations and let the stay down.

“Fabulous Yellow bush lodge.”

The lodge is big, with plenty of space, and includes two double bedrooms, both with walk‑in wardrobes, one of which has an ensuite. There is also a main bathroom. The location is quiet, parking is easy, and it’s a nice spot to start sightseeing and travel around the island. A nice touch is having milk in the fridge ready for the tea and coffee that are supplied, and there’s a dishwasher, which is great. If you prefer to hand wash, real fairy liquid is supplied. We uncovered a couple of minor issues, but Harriet was on to them immediately, and by no means did they spoil our stay. The video that helped us find the lodge on day one was super helpful. My only disappointment was… and this is down to personal preference: I like a sheet over me and under the quilt; I don’t like sleeping just under a quilt, so I had to leave.

“Good place to relax and good location to explore most of the island.”

The place was peaceful, spacious, and had good showers and heating. The kitchen had everything needed to easily prepare meals, and there was plenty of closet space. The living room furniture really needs a good cleaning—there’s not just dirt and stains, but also a smell—and the mattresses need to be replaced. The linens could be of better quality.

“It was a perfect,relaxing break for us. We absolutely loved our stay there and have booked for next spring.”

It was the perfect place for us because it was so peaceful. It’s only a few minutes away from shops, restaurants, and the beach, making it ideal for shopping. The lodge was spotless and had everything you need. Nothing else to add.

“Great place to stay.”

The lodge sits in a quiet spot and is a decent size with two bathrooms, which is very handy. The spring mattress, however, didn’t fit us and caused constant back pain.
