The pool was filthy and the surrounding area was just as dirty. A loose dog was wandering around the entrance, and when I complained the staff answered with sarcasm. On top of that, the breakfast didn’t match what was advertised.

The bed and shower were surprisingly comfortable, which made the stay pleasant. Finding the house, however, was a nightmare – the entrance isn’t marked and the forest hides it, especially after dark when the road has no lighting. I’d suggest bringing a GPS coordinate.

Staying in the old manor was a treat, and the host’s homemade bread and cake made breakfast feel special. Unfortunately the pool was grimy and the gardens looked like they hadn’t been tended to in a while. It’s a mixed bag.

The hot tub was fantastic and Marcos was always on hand, friendly and quick to help. The only downside was that getting to the place is a hassle because there’s no sign pointing the way. Otherwise a solid stay.

Marcos was a real star – super helpful and always smiling. The room itself is a bit bare, though, with no television to keep you entertained. Still, the staff makes up for it.
