“Enttäuschend”

Beware of fraud! We booked an apartment in Vancouver four months ahead and relied on it. A day before departure, we were told the apartment was unavailable due to a supposed floor damage. This happened exactly an hour after the cancellation deadline. First, an alternative apartment was offered about an hour away at the same price, which we declined because of the location. Then we were offered a unit in the neighboring building at a much higher price (about 400 € more). At check‑in, we met a couple who had the same issue; they too were told of a “water damage” and faced a higher price. It feels like a scam. We can’t confirm if the damage existed, but the pattern is suspicious and leaves a bad impression of last‑minute cancellations for pricier options. We would be very cautious about booking here again.

The room was pretty basic, and the desk and chair were unnecessary; removing them would have created more space.

I liked how close it was to the bus stop and everything I needed, but the person in the neighboring room did laundry outside my door past midnight, even though the rules forbid laundry after 10:00.

“It was good stay.”

The place is great—new, quiet, and close to public transport, restaurants, and shops. However, there are no hair dryers or irons, and the landlord said they don’t have them. The house can host up to four people, yet there are only two kitchen chairs, so when we three people (two groups) used them we had to share. Cutlery is insufficient: no knives and not enough spoons. The bathroom door lock was broken and remained unfixed after I asked the landlord. Towels were worn‑out and thin, but the landlord supplied better ones after I requested them. Fixing these small issues would make the accommodation much better.

“Could not wait to leave, yet it did not need to be like that, if the host just spent a couple of dollars on the property”

The place was clean and in a nice spot, just a 20‑minute walk to the main shopping street and two minutes to the bus that goes to the city, which is 20 minutes away. I didn’t like that we had to share with other guests, the seating was insufficient, the bathroom door didn’t lock, there were no knives, no hairdryer, no iron, and the owner upstairs kept walking on the floorboards until 2 am, creating noise when I was underneath. The bed was against the wall because of a desk in the room; it should have been centered with two side tables. The host was not very welcoming and seemed distant, there was no TV, and signs everywhere listed rules.
