The room size and bed matched my expectations, and the soft atmosphere on the floor with its thick floor covering muted the noise from other guests. The building’s architecture and its location near the train station and city centre made walking there easy. However, the air conditioning was broken, even though we had been told beforehand that it would be out of service. There were also quite unpleasant smells on the ground floor right after the elevator, and sometimes in the bathroom too.

“Veel te warm”

The location was good. There was no air conditioning, and the fans didn’t cool enough.

“Give this hotel a miss”

The location was fine. The rooms had been refurbished but still looked very dated. The toilet was separate from the bathroom and located in a cupboard. The lift was old and could only fit two adults and a small overnight case. We were told the air‑con had not worked since June and would not be fixed until a full refurbishment later; yet Best Western still advertises full air‑con.

“Terrible night at the Best Western Hotel d'Arc”

The air‑conditioning system was not working. The bathroom and toilet door locks were broken. The shower tray was mouldy. There was no ventilation. Because the air‑conditioning wasn’t working we had to leave the patio doors open, which made it very noisy. Overall, I was very disappointed with our stay.
