Located 3 miles from Halifax, the 17th-century Shibden Mill Inn is a family-run hotel offering an award-winning restaurant serving locally sourced cuisine and a cozy bar with log fires. Each en-suite room features a flat-screen TV, DVD player, tea/coffee, and bathrobes, with access to a DVD library. The hotel has been recognized as UK Food Pub of the Year, situated in the Shibden Valley overlooking Red Beck.

This hotel and its restaurant are superb. We have stayed here four times, and every room was delightful and every meal absolutely first rate. My only hesitation in writing this review is that the place might become busier. But when something is really good, and this is, you want it to keep succeeding. Go. You won’t be disappointed. The chef adds apple to the homemade black pudding, and although it’s perfectly delicious, that’s not something I would do. Breakfast, needless to say, is like dinner, first rate.

The place is lovely and an absolute gem. The staff, bar, food and room were all superb. A great place to stay if you are in the area. Nothing to complain about.
