The rate was super cheap for the area, so it wasn't surprising that it turned out to be a run‑down, dirty roadside motel with some shady activity, but if you just need a cheap spot to crash between trips to Storm King, it works.

“Quiet, unpretentious motel”

I wasn’t looking for luxury at Cadet Motel, and the bed was comfortable, the place stayed quiet, the AC was strong, and the TV worked; it looks like the rooms are being renovated gradually, which is good. My room felt almost redone but was missing some final touches. The motel could improve by banning smoking in rooms and thoroughly cleaning if it happens—my room had a lingering cold smoke that non‑smokers would notice right away. Other fixes would be touch‑ups to prevent mold in floor grout lines and a shower head that points properly at the wall; some of this may stem from guest behavior but still reflects on ownership.
