The location is perfect, close to train, S-Bahn, and U-Bahn. The room, especially the bed, was fine, and the hotel’s townhouse vibe was quiet, even though the walls were very thin. The place feels a bit dated, which shows in many areas. The shower cabin in room 6 has movable walls that don’t close properly and snag when moved; it needs repair. The building sits on a busy street, so we kept the windows shut, but in summer that would be hard. We tried to postpone our visit for health reasons, but even though rooms were available that week, the staff rejected the request abruptly. The cancellation deadline had already passed, so it was legal. We had to cut our stay by a day and couldn’t finish our planned program. Too bad.

“Xantener Eck”

The spot above the restaurant had very friendly staff. We ate well there and spent an evening on the terrace. The bathroom was dirty; the shower doors were filthy and broken. The floor wasn’t cleaned all week. Towels weren’t replenished for two people. Reception was only open from 11 am to 6 pm, so if you’re away during the day there’s no one to file a complaint with. A pity, because it’s a great place.

“this hotel wasn't worth $339 a day at all, it was worth at $100 a day, we felt ripped off.”

Breakfast was okay. The room wasn’t clean, the hotel is very old and poorly equipped, there was no air conditioning, and the elevator is very old.

“Empfehlenswert”

The staff were very nice and the room was pretty. The U-Bahn station “Adenauerplatz” is just a few steps away. The restaurant in the same building is highly recommended. The shower is very narrow, and I couldn’t get the hotel Wi‑Fi in my room at the end of the hallway.
