The location is brilliant, just minutes on foot from Essen central station, the bed is comfortable, everything is clean, the room is a good size, it’s fairly quiet even though it’s in the city centre, and the staff were friendly when I could reach them. I had stayed here before and was a little disappointed this time: no staff at night and for several hours during the day; there was a problem in my room the first night that the staff fixed after I called, but the next morning I couldn’t get anyone and had to wait for staff to arrive to change rooms, so I missed an appointment; the coffee machine didn’t work on day one; breakfast was a variety of items on a single plate (but a good choice); I’m not sure if anyone else was staying here – it was a little unsettling at night.

The place was terrible, nothing I liked. The staff were filthy, like corpses. I spent three nights with the power out until morning and want a refund.

The facility was awful, I liked nothing at all. Security was non‑existent, there was no service, the lights went out in the evening, nobody was around, and no staff would help you.
