For our four‑person family, the Chambres d’hôtes du Moulin had already become a stopover in its second year of hosting our Atlantic holiday on the way back and forth. The hosts are very nice and helpful. Despite our rudimentary French, everyone made an effort. The grounds are spacious and somewhat remote, with plenty of greenery and quiet – exactly what we needed after a 600 km drive. The facilities are simple but perfectly adequate for us. Breakfast is always the highlight: croissants, pain au chocolat, baguette, brioche, coffee, milk, juice, butter, fruit yogurt, and great homemade jam – we love it. We’ll stop here again next year on the way back and enjoy the breakfast.

We liked the little zen garden with the fountain and fish; the bathroom was spacious and bright. Breakfast was decent, and the hosts were pleasant. What bothered us was the presence of cat food in the greenhouse – we love cats and have two of our own – and the heat made a strong odor. The litter boxes nearby could have been placed farther away, especially when hosting tourists. At night we were disturbed by a very unpleasant smell from a nearby sewage treatment plant.

The guesthouse was perfect for our overnight stop with our family of three big kids, very clean and quiet. The breakfast was good, and our hosts taught us the history of their home, an old 12th‑century mill. We had a bit of trouble finding it because we didn’t arrive from the right side of the road. A sign points to the lodge, but it’s more visible when you come from the correct side.

I was disappointed with the breakfast and the surroundings of the accommodation.
