The woman who checked me in was friendly; I was alone in the building. This is not a hostel but a fairly rundown bunk house, old and dirty with a strong mildew smell, especially the shower was completely moldy. I’m used to a lot of stuff, but I didn’t like showering there. Free tea pads were provided, but nothing to heat water. The stove plate was broken, a rat trap sat beside the pots, and there were hardly any windows. The building I stayed in was not the one shown in the photos. After the long holiday weekend, piles of trash were outside the door. It wasn’t worth the £30.

There are plenty of showers and toilets, and the price is good. However, it took some time to access the facilities and the dorm wasn’t secure because there were no locks on individual rooms.

I had a huge room all to myself. The signage was lacking and checking in was a bit problematic.

A great option for cyclists and walkers – the hostel had everything I needed for a stopover during my cycle tour and the room was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly at the welcome. The hostel grounds are also lovely for relaxing. Thanks for a great stay!
