We stayed in the Adobe Suite, which offered more space and a king bed; even though it didn’t face the street, the Main Street of Groveland still caused some noise. The hotel sits about 25 miles from the west gate of Yosemite and 40 miles from Yosemite Valley, so expect a 60‑minute drive. The bathroom had been renovated and looked lovely, but the carpeting was old and dingy; swapping it for light‑colored vinyl plank flooring would improve the room.

The location was good, but we were on a road trip and this hotel was far from the most expensive ones; compared to other hotels it offered nothing extra or better, and it didn’t even provide breakfast.

The Groveland Hotel met all our needs for our Yosemite trip: the room was clean and of average size, the bathroom was pleasantly spacious, and we appreciated a coffee machine in the room. The hotel’s restaurant was closed while we were there, but a charming saloon nearby served dinner. The spot is convenient for Yosemite: one entrance is about 30 minutes away, and Yosemite Valley takes roughly an hour.
