This place is absolutely amazing—if you love nature, I’d recommend staying here for several nights just to unwind.
“This resort is for couples who find romance in silence - who want privacy wrapped in nature's calm.”
Seeing a gecko up close and hearing its “tukooo” mating call was unforgettable for the kids and their millennial parents, especially since the rainy season arrived and we ended up having the whole resort to ourselves for the price of one treehouse; on day two we were the only guests left and spent the time enjoying the view, pool, archery and a mangrove trek, where the post‑rain waterfall roared brown and strong, yet the children dove in and climbed it without hesitation. The on‑site restaurant won us over with its legendary chicken curry—rich, creamy and perfectly spiced—so we kept scooping it over rice, and the price felt fair for a forest‑side meal; a nearby carinderia also served good food and we ordered extra rice. We still have one night left and the adults want to stay while the kids are itching for downtown Coron on night three, ready for the island tour on day four, and the adults ended up winning. The only drawback was the end of the forest trek, which finishes on a concrete pier swarming with tiny biting insects that crawl up from your feet unnoticed; a heads‑up to apply repellent like OFF! before starting would be helpful.
“It’s in a jungle like surrounding, so it’s very scenic and romantic but expect to be roughing it a bit.”
We (family of 3) stayed for 5 nights at the Sanctuary treehouse. We liked some things and disliked others. Overall the place is remote so if you want to do things away from there you need to bring your bike or rent their bike(s) for PHP 700/day. You can’t be too sensitive to bugs and ants here, although the mosquitoes were not bad when we visited. We liked: - Beautiful jungle location with pool and sunsets. - Quality and portion size of the food they sell - Access to kayaks for local trips - Super friendly staff who are eager to help you - pickup from airport for PHP 1800. - Expensive food, and they added a 10% service charge at the end without telling us first - Showers (cold) are only dripping so you need patience to rinse off - No porch light at our treehouse, so you need headlamps to see outside - Found Gecko and mouse poop in our rooms and large ants in toilet bowl - Internet out for a 1/2 day and no action to restore it - Sometimes water is not available for a while for toilet/sink/shower
Sleeping in a treehouse, dining with a gorgeous view, and the food was really tasty! Who wouldn’t want that? The location is fantastic, the staff are very friendly and willing to arrange anything, renting a scooter is a must, the waterfall is great, and the Black Island tour is awesome!
The view is simply fantastic! After a long flight, it’s a great place to stay and relax. Brian, his wife, and their entire team are super warm and fulfill every wish (shuttle service, tours, etc.). This place is built with so much love for detail. Every single treehouse is beautiful! If you’re looking for a peaceful spot to relax, this is exactly right. I would come back anytime!
