Our time at Aidyn Yurt Camp was simply wonderful. The host welcomed us warmly, served dinner and breakfast, and even provided a modern flush toilet and hot shower next to the traditional yurt, a rare luxury in the region. She lent us her modem for Wi‑Fi, and when our car battery died on the way out, a colleague helped us jump‑start the engine and replace the battery.

A classic Kyrgyz jurt camp with friendly hosts and amazing hospitality. The jurt tents were functional and came with large warm blankets. Wooden outhouses were located away from the tents. The hosts greeted us with tea and a full dinner table even though we were a bit late because of mountain weather, and breakfast was fantastic. The setting was beautiful. The showers were a bit far from the jurt. The camp’s location is great if you’re coming from Ala‑Kul lake, but not ideal if you just want a place in Karakol, because it sits inside the national park and the last 3 km have no paved road. There is also a small fee to enter the national park.
