The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good, and there was convenient, accessible parking. However, the small twin room and bathroom were cramped, the room was up three flights of stairs, and it felt expensive for what it offered.

I booked a twin room on the third floor that was extremely clean and quite spacious. It came with a kettle and a coffee maker, among other amenities.

There was a lack of dinner options on the menu. Because of ongoing work, breakfast starters had to be carried a long way from a table up steps to another table. The room, which was supposed to be exceptional, was not; it had no drawers and insufficient bright lighting, making it hard to read both in the room and in bed, and one side of the reading lamp was broken. The coffee/tea station was in a dark alcove, making it difficult to see what you were doing. You had to be in bed to watch the TV. We found five long creatures in the bathroom that we couldn’t identify. The shower was inviting, but the attention to detail was lacking.

The apartment accommodation was superb: spacious, private, well equipped, and with great views over the countryside. The cooked breakfast was excellent, and dinner was tasty. The bartender was very helpful with wine choices. On the downside, we couldn’t master the heating controls—no explanation was given when we took possession, and there were no instructions in the room. The same issue applied to the lighting; we couldn’t get the porch and some lights to work and had to trial and error. The information welcome card on the coffee table did not apply to this room, and we were told we had Bluetooth touch speakers in the headboard, which we didn’t. Breakfast was delivered by staff who were somewhat surly, lacking a pleasant welcoming manner, and there was no explanation of the system, such as where to find the cold buffet items. Tables were not cleared, making the space cramped. Dinner had limited meal choices and was somewhat pricey. The restaurant was out of bounds in the evening due to floor replacement work, but no advice was given when we reserved. Dining in the bar offered the same menu and restaurant prices.
