We inspected the room and decided to stay elsewhere, so we didn’t actually sleep in it.

Seeing the stadium from the windows was a perk, but the overall experience was disappointing. The place had become worse over the years: floors and hallways were littered with trash, ceiling vents and the AC unit had never been cleaned, and the trash can still held waste from a former tenant. The blinds were broken, and a persistent odd odor filled the rooms. When I asked about amenities, the front desk clerk, Gall, told me “The only amenity we have is an elevator. And it’s broke down.” Apparently that’s been the case for months. The beds were cheap and uncomfortable, and I couldn’t tell if the sheets were even changed. To top it off, a homeless shelter was visible in the trees, and the back door was left unlocked.

The location was fine, but the room itself left a lot to be desired. There was no soap, shampoo, or washcloths, only half a roll of toilet paper. The toilet seat was broken, the blinds were cracked and let in light, and the whole building had a strong weed smell.
