Near Lake Biwa, the path from the station was also a nice walking trail and comfortable. The food was very tasty, and I liked having the large public bath. I was disappointed with the cleaning, so I filed a complaint directly with the hotel staff and hope it improves in the future.

We checked in early and found the room surprisingly roomy, complete with a cozy seating area and a spacious bathroom; breakfast was tasty, served in a restaurant overlooking a great view, and the hotel lobby even offered bike parking. The only drawbacks were the lack of power outlets beside the bed and the absence of nearby restaurants or shops, so planning meals in advance was necessary.

Breakfast was good and the rice was tasty; the morning staff, especially two young members, were fresh and pleasant. The room wasn’t uncomfortable. However, signage was lacking, there was no power outlet near the bed, and the room switches were confusing. The shuttle that runs only until 17:00 takes you through an area with frequent bear sightings, which felt unsafe for guests who traveled far. We came for the fireworks, but the schedule didn’t consider the timing of the show and the hotel’s check‑out hour.

The view of the lake was great, the breakfast was excellent, and the room was clean and spacious. The spa was very good.
