I booked through a platform that didn't make it clear that check‑in had to be completed by 18:30. The website might have mentioned it, but the booking site didn't warn us. We had planned a stop at Fichtelpark while traveling from Italy to Berlin, but we only arrived around 19:30/20:00, so we missed the window. Even though the phone staff were very friendly, there was no flexibility or cancellation option. We had to find another place to stay and lost the total cost of the sleeping barrel. Frustrating and disappointing.

On Sunday there was a very good breakfast buffet, but it didn’t open until 9.00 am, and the parking lot operators were very friendly.

The "sleeping barrel" was super cozy, the bathrooms were clean with subtle background music, and there was a self‑serve drinks bar; the owner was friendly, the parking was good, and the location was very quiet—everything was perfect! I’ll definitely come back. On the downside, check‑in was only between 16 and 18 h. My booking confirmation listed 4 (night??) until 18 h, which I found odd; that should be corrected.
