The Lakeside Hotel & Leisure Centre is situated on the banks of the River Shannon, offering breathtaking views of the linked towns of Ballina and Killaloe. Located 20 km from Limerick and Nenagh, off the N7, it's close to the 13-arch bridge, 13th-century cathedral, and the Shannon Waterway.

Food was good. Views are lovely. Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable. Cost of stay was very reasonable. Mens changing rooms in the leisure centre were very grubby. A staff member was cleaning the floor with used towels. The leisure centre itself was nice but could use an update. It’s a bit outdated for a 4‑star rating.

The location was excellent, right on the lake, with a very good breakfast and the option to swim and use the fitness centre. Unfortunately, we were assigned a room without a window, only a small roof window.

I was pleased with the room upgrade at check‑in, which offered a beautiful view over the lake and lovely décor.
