The location is lovely, but the room cleaning was poor – corners were dirty, spider webs on lamps, and the bathroom had limescale and dust.

The rooms were historically styled and the whole place felt historic, but I had booked three rooms, chose the smallest which was fine, yet the thick spider webs in the ceiling bothered me.

The building feels like a charming historic manor, a bit retro but still appealing, and we enjoyed the surrounding area. The staff were friendly, and overall we had a good time. However, the place looks a bit run down; the rooms and the entire space need a major overhaul to meet modern hotel standards—old‑school curtain shower without a built base or a glass side, 60s power outlets and circuitry, dusty worn floor carpets, tapestries falling from the walls, etc.

The surroundings are beautiful and the buildings are lovely. The staff were sweet and welcoming. The one building smells strongly of cellar damp, which is a no‑go for someone like me who is sensitive to that; we upgraded to the bridal suite in another building where there was no odor but the hallways were not well cleaned.

A very nice place with a rustic atmosphere, well‑located in a quiet setting close to Ålborg, and the breakfast was excellent. We arrived at the hotel on Monday evening of week 30 around 17:45, within the stated check‑in window, so we expected to be greeted by someone at reception. That didn’t happen; the key was simply left on the desk with our name on it. We didn’t meet anyone until the next morning, when we discovered we were the only guests on the “castle” overnight, which felt a bit odd. The fantastic breakfast, served by old‑lady Christina, made up for it, and nothing was missing.
