We booked this place for the start of our honeymoon and were let down by the service. We arrived by train at 6am. The staff quoted us almost twice the price of a Grab or local taxi for the station transfer. When we asked about early check‑in, they said it was only possible if we upgraded our room, but even then the room wasn’t ready when we got there, even though we’d told them our arrival time days earlier. The person who welcomed us, who seemed to be the manager, didn’t take the time to check us in or give us any advice and left us with a junior staff member who only spoke basic English, making the arrival feel impersonal and the guy came across as rude. When we mentioned that the local tour guide price was outside our budget, we were told to “go look yourself” if we weren’t happy. We expected better from a hotel. Overall, the staff were neither helpful nor polite. Finally, even though we didn’t expect anything special for our honeymoon, we were disappointed that no extra effort was made to make us feel welcome. The location is nice, but the service didn’t match the price. We left disappointed and would not recommend it.
