“Friendly staff, but far from a five-star standard”
The staff were friendly, polite and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was good and had a reasonable variety of food. We also liked the SPA and the spacious rooms. The hotel has good potential and it’s clear it was designed as a high‑level property. However, the current condition doesn’t fully meet the standard I’d expect from a five‑star hotel. We found a live cockroach in our first room, and after moving to a higher‑category room we found another live cockroach there too, so we had to change rooms and lost a lot of sleep over two nights. The hotel also shows signs of needing renovation and better maintenance: some chairs have damaged upholstery, some doors don’t close properly, and there are various worn or damaged details. The cleanliness of the SPA and changing rooms wasn’t always up to standard, with hair and dirt visible on some occasions. The hotel kindly offered us a bottle of wine and some fruit as compensation, which we appreciated, but that didn’t really make up for the inconvenience. In my opinion, the hotel currently feels closer to a four‑star property than a five‑star one.
