Staying at this historic Matsushima hotel left us feeling wonderfully warm, and I’d gladly point every friend heading to Matsushima this way; the building carries an elegant, timeless vibe and, after a recent renovation, felt completely fresh and comfortable rather than dated. The view from the property was simply stunning, and we switched to the Western buffet for dinner, which offered a rich, refined selection—especially the perfectly cooked steak. Their complimentary shuttle made hopping to the main sights on Matsushima Street a breeze, and the public pool was immaculate, showing how meticulous the management is about even the smallest details. What truly stayed with me was the genuine warmth of every staff member, from the buffet chefs and bustling waiters to the friendly bus driver, whose heartfelt, attentive service made us feel truly valued. If I ever return to Matsushima, I’ll definitely book this hotel again to relive that rare kindness and beauty.

“Amazing hotel with excellent service”

We had 2 Japanese-Western rooms. Love the spacious rooms, ocean view, immaculately clean. Children loved the futon on tatami mats. The public bath experience was fantastic, everything was provided including yukata, face moisturiser and hairbrush. Very good accessibility features for the grandparents. Dinner buffet was amazing, huge variety of quality food. We emailed hotel in advance about food allergy. Upon check in, the staff had prepared a list of every dish in the buffet that contained the allergen. We very much appreciate this caring service. Regular shuttle bus service to train station and town centre was very much appreciated. On check out day, the smaller bus was full, a second driver showed up to take all the passengers. Excellent service. Nothing. Everything we need was provided for. The bath itself is not natural spring water, but we knew that before booking, as this is a seaside hotel, while natural onsen are only found in mountains

“快適でした！！”

The Japanese‑Western buffet for breakfast and dinner was outstanding, and the staff were cheerful and attentive, making the trip feel very pleasant; the shuttle bus was a real help, and the driver’s friendly manner was much appreciated. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the view from the hot‑spring area was lovely.
