“I would say that it could have been better”

The property needs some upkeep, and the rooms with open bathrooms feel too comfortable. The space is large, and the staff are friendly and try hard to meet expectations. The restaurant staff can be a bit rude, maybe because they’re not used to many foreign guests, and the food there is best avoided. The building is old with a pool that has strict hours; if that’s what you want, this isn’t the place. The street is busy, but it’s far from the city centre and local shops.

The staff were pleasant and always smiling, and the sunset view was beautiful with a wide breakfast buffet, but none of the hotel employees spoke English, the fourth‑floor pool was tiny and had only four loungers—which is pitiful for a hotel of this size—there was no lobby bar despite being listed, ongoing construction next door created noise all day even on higher floors, and the property simply didn’t live up to its five‑star rating.

The hotel’s location is fantastic—close to the beach, markets, shopping centres, and the airport. It’s a brand‑new property with all new equipment, comfortable beds, and high‑quality plumbing. When I asked, they upgraded my room to a sea‑view room free of charge. They try to fulfill any request as quickly as possible. The breakfasts are lovely, featuring both local and European cuisine, and surprisingly they don’t take tips at all. The only downside is the pool isn’t heated, which cuts down on usage time, and the surrounding construction slightly spoils the view.
